I’d try living in a squirrel’s body for a week

I’d love to be a squirrel. I often watch them in the park and admire their flexibility and agility. Children bring them walnuts or hazelnuts. But what I love most is watching how a squirrel makes its way through the trees, how it jumps from one branch to another, from one tree to another, able to cover long distances without ever touching the ground with its little feet. I think that’s why I envy squirrels: they have a path of their own, an alternative to the conventional one, and one that’s completely inaccessible to us humans. Which brings to mind the character Cosimo Piovasco di Rondò from Italo Calvino’s novel *The Baron in the Trees*.
